Develop the Proper Sequence for Your GolfSwing and Distance Will Follow!

Most players who take up this crazy game of golf and attempt to build a golfswing and subsequently a complete game, typically have one thing in mind, that being to hit the golf ball as far as they possibly can.

This is NOT the mind-set to start the game with and many golfers never quite recover from this thought process even as they develop skills that otherwise might allow them to shoot lower scores and have more fun. This particular mindset is one of the reasons why their golfswing never produces the distance that they are capable of hitting the ball or the scores they are capable of shooting.

CHECK OUT THE GOLF SWING SECRET!

When developing a new golfswing or making changes to the swing you’ve been struggling with, you should always start slow developing the proper movements and feel for your swing. Starting slow allows you to consciously monitor your golfswing and make sure that you are making the proper movements in the proper sequence. If you take this approach, you’ll improve much quicker than if you simply flail away trying to hit the ball as far as possible. Learn the feel for your swing and how it feels to make solid, square contact with the ball and then you can always add swing speed and distance once you’ve mastered your optimal motion.

There’s simply no point in hitting the ball 300 yards off the tee if if your golf ball is going to wind up in the bushes, water, or worse yet out of bounds.

All this will accomplish is adding penalty shots to your score and frustration to what should be an fun, relaxing and enjoyable round of golf.

Conversely, driving the ball in the fairway, even at 220 yards, will set you up for a much easier approach shot, setting the stage for lower socres, less frustration and more fun.

By practicing with slower, more controlled swings, you will quickly learn the feel for your swing, a golfswing that produces longer and more accurate shots with not only the driver but with all the clubs in your bag.

Having said that, please don’t think that by starting in this manner, you’re relegating yourself to being a short knocker. Nothing is farther from the truth! By developing your feel for the proper swing first, you’re setting yourself up to realize your full potential, not only from a distance perspective but also from a scoring perspective as well.

When starting slow and focusing on the feel of striking the ball solid and squarely, it will be easier to train your body to develop the correct sequence of events, and this sequence can be maintained then as you increase the speed of your golfswing. This proper sequence plus added speed will produce longer drives…but speed alone will not do the trick and will only serve up inconsistency and frustration.

As you master your correct swing sequence and develop your feel for hitting the golf ball solid and squarely, you can add speed to your swing knowing that you will have the control to hit the ball in the right direction.

This combination of correct swing sequence and speed will ensure that you fulfill your potential in golf.

If you find that your drives are going wayward, slow down… focus on the sequence of your swing, focus on solid contact and a ball flight that starts and flies down the intended target line even if that means throttling back on the driver for a few days.
