Cure Slice – Part 1
I’m assuming if you’re reading this article then you slice the golf ball and are looking to cure your slice. I believe that before you can cure your slice you must first identify your slice and we’ll do just that in a moment but first let’s just discuss slicing in general.
Of course the majority of people who slice have the most trouble from the tee with the driver. The driver is the longest club in your bag making it the most difficult to control. The driver is also the club in your golf bag with the least amount of loft so typically any side spin you impart with the driver is magnified due to a lack of back spin. Back spin imparted by shorter, more lofted clubs negate some of the effect of side spin ultimately allowing for a straighter ball flight with these clubs.
Go to any golf course, public or private, any day of the week and if you sit on the first tee longer than 10 minutes, you are certain to see someone slice the ball wildly to the right. Even low handicap players who shoot solid scores can be plagued by this golf malady.
These players have simply adjusted their game to allow for a slice that they can’t seem to cure. The more they try to cure their slice the worse it seems to get and even professional instruction can fall short of resolving this issue. So they just allow for it, helping their score short term but doing terrible damage to their ability to realize their full potential as a player.
What can make this all the more frustrating is that many of you get out on the range and with enough balls, you find some quick fix or band aid that will work but when you arrive on the first tee on Saturday morning, you can’t find your fix and your golfswing falls apart again. Most players just accept that they have a problem, they keep searching for mechanical solution or a quick tip or band aid that will somehow manage to fix their slice but in realty, they would be better off doing nothing than chasing mechanical thoughts and band aids like a dog chasing it’s tail.
Unfortunately problems like this really impede your ability to enjoy your golf so I say rather than chase your tail, let’s figure out where the problem lies and fix it once and for all!
Let’s get a couple things out of the way… Buying new golf clubs or or spending $60 a dozen on the latest fad in golf balls will not solve the problem.
The good news for you is that one player has dedicated his time and efforts to a study of the golf swing and has created a wonderful guide guaranteed to help people just like you and me eliminate this and other problems from their golf swings. This player is Ben Throckmorton and he has opened the door for players of all skill levels to experience rapid improvement in their swing and score even though your practice time may be very limited.
Ben’s program is called The Golf Swing Secret. The Golf Swing Secret is well respected and has successfully guided hundreds of distraught golfers back onto the ‘straight and narrow’ – the center of the fairway!
